A trailer is great in that it enables you to set up camp and leave the vehicle free for exploring, carry more creature comforts and keep the towing vehicle relatively clutter free for passengers. On the other hand, they can reduce your cruising speed on motorways, slightly reduce manoeuvrability and can be a liability if entering the seriously rough stuff.

Yes.  That's the way I read it and you also mentioned the increased tolls that occur when pulling a trailer.  I know I avoid the one toll road I sometimes use if I'm pulling a trailer of any kind. Ferries would be very expensive, too.

Is there any chance that you guys can make it so that the Message input text field can be adjusted? I didn't really notice it until today, but it's really small comparatively and makes it difficult to navigate when breaking apart large quotes or editing in multiple quotes.

may resuscitate this thread, I'm considering building a roof rack for my Silverado 3H gooseneck with mid tack 30"shortwall.

This rack would be my base; https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Capacity-Aluminum-Enclosed-Trailers/dp/B0CLL1SWJ7/ref=sxin_16_pa_sp_search_thematic_sspa?c=ts&content-id=amzn1.sym.e8834c9f-a716-498d-ab88-40e9d01cd2e7%3Aamzn1.sym.e8834c9f-a716-498d-ab88-40e9d01cd2e7&cv_ct_cx=Truck%2BLadder%2BRacks&keywords=Truck%2BLadder%2BRacks&pd_rd_i=B0CLL1SWJ7&pd_rd_r=5860da88-2e88-40b8-83d9-eff7896cafe3&pd_rd_w=2aaOW&pd_rd_wg=svAQw&pf_rd_p=e8834c9f-a716-498d-ab88-40e9d01cd2e7&pf_rd_r=CJGGQ275B8M4J0ZQV73K&qid=1772045181&s=automotive&sbo=RZvfv%2F%2FHxDF%2BO5021pAnSA%3D%3D&sr=1-1-383bc08e-f3b5-4928-b079-a9607486ab19-spons&ts_id=3097819011&aref=cmQOyfQ5PL&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9zZWFyY2hfdGhlbWF0aWM&th=1

In addition to a hay rack, I thought it would be good to add solar panels in front to charge a LiFe Po4 battery

I plan to use 3 bars as the hay rack base and attach  the solar panels between the third and the 4th bar in front of the hay rack .

I like that the rack will bolt to my wall rather than roof, not harming the integrity of the roof.  I can cut down the uprights to bring the horizontal bars closer to the roof.

I'll then fabricate the Hay rack basket and attach it to these supports.

thoughts?
