Im hopeing to buy a GN trailer with  about 4ft sw LQs Problem is here in England  if a trailer is over 7700lbGVW it gets real complecated with registration and other issues, can anyone tell me who makes the lightest gn 3 horse? whats the average weight,  most folks over here have tiny 2 horse bumper pulls or box van trucks converted to carry horses,

If i were you I'd figure out what I wanted in the trailer (options) and call a few of the big trailer dealers on the East coast. They would be able to tell you just about what it will way.

By the way I've seen some of those "horse trailers " in Euope and what they tow them around with and it amazes me how they do it.

Hi,

Here is the URL of a 4240 lbs 3 horse GN, I don't know if it is the lightest but the are reasonably priced and quality is not bad. Not alot of frills but many can be added later ( after it is weighed)

Good luck

When it comes down to haggleing about price, talk  directly to Don he's the boss.

I bought 2 GNs from him and got the best price and service around.

I don't remember off the top of my head who the manufacturer was (it was one of the name brands, Sundowner, Exiss, Sooner, etc.) but I recently saw a model made specifically for 1/2 ton trucks that is probably lighter than most standard 3h gooseneck trailers. Anybody seen one of these or remember who makes it? Will see if I can find an link to the make/model.

Found it. Its Logan Coach. The 1500 model. Bottom of their special models page: http://www.logancoach.com/trailers/specialtypkg.html

"Designed for Half-ton trucks and includes disk brakes and V-nose. 3H trailer on a 2H frame and 4H trailer on a 3H frame"

Anyone else confused by the marketing statment?  Are they saying they skimp on the overall frame length to make the trailer lighter? Has anyone seen these or talked to Logan about them?

I thought the same thing at first. Looks to me like they take the room out of the dressing room from the floorplan drawing on the left. Tack door is on the long wall and there basically is no short wall. The bulkhead wall runs directly to the front of the gooseneck.
