What do y'all think? My cousin's trailer has those foam sheets like I am using for my insulation sheets under the rubber mats on her trailer. They are thin, about 1/2", duct taped together, and duct taped to the wall to seal up the floor (hence no urine gets to the floor boards). She hauls to ropings all over TX, and says she really likes the extra cushioning and sound dampening they provide for her horses.
Does anyone have this type of setup? It would be cheap and easy to maintain - replace the foam once a year when you clean and re-seal the floor boards.

I know some people that do this and seem to really like it too. I can't see the harm in trying it! I would probably do it too if I didn't have WERM flooring.

I'd guess it feels good to humans, but the horses probably compress it flat even through the regular top thick hard rubber stall mat.
Horses weigh several times what humans weigh, their feet aren't THAT much bigger, just note how much imprint they leave in soft mud vs your own shoe/boot.
Yes, probably low cost and low maintenance, it might reduce noise a bit.
