What do everyone use for keeping your ramp up on your trailer?   An over the door ramp.  What kind of latches?

Both of mine have had a spring loaded upside down J pin that is mounted to the trailer or to the door. Trails West had one pin in the center mounted to the door and my current Lakota has one mounted on each side of the trailer body that latches into a little piece of round aluminum tube that's welded onto the ramp.

Some manufacturers use what I call a "semi hood" latch, a rubber piece that has a knob on the end that hooks into a metal cup. I have noticed them being used to secure the front hoods on big trucks. They don't look very secure but seem to function quite well. Occasionally we will get an older trailer in with these latches that have deteriorated with age and sun, and they are quite easy to replace

My 2014 sundowner 2 horse BP has the rubber latches.  I like them.  Mine is also a ramp over full back doors.

Those rubber latches are very useful indeed. Doing the job all the time.
