I do and just use the standard leadline, probably 6 feet.   Make sure no knot in end.  I want my horse to be able to get his head down in case of need.

I have a couple of Blockers but I would not use it to secure a horse in the trailer. I don't want a horse to get his head loose to bite his neighbor or get himself into trouble. I use a 20 inch trailer tie with a panic snap. Contrary to many, I put the panic snap on the trailer ring. I don't want to get close to a wildly moving and panic stricken horse. It's better to reach for the stationary panic snap on the trailer, close to the window. Plus, then you have a short lead to handle the horse instead of a loose horse with no lead.

I actually use the plastic chain you buy at home depot, it is plenty strong enough to hold a horse  from buggin his neighbor but will break and you can cut it with a pocket knife very easiily.  Also ,if you need to shorten a horse because they are causing trouble it is easy to do, just drop some links.  for horses that like to eat the chain i put a 4-6" section of real chain near the halter.

I use them. You can "adjust" how hard it is for the horse to get slack. I use them for my mare who WILL reach under the dividered to bit a neighbor - never had a problem because she feels tied.

The length of the tie should be adjusted so your horse can reach his hay net and lower his head slightly to clear his airway, but should not be so long that he can turn his head around or reach over the divider in the trailer. The tie can be attached either to the ring at the cheek of the halter or the lower ring near his muzzle. Observe your horse in the trailer for a few minutes to be sure the length of the tie is appropriate and that the tie is not hitting his eye when he moves around. If you'll be traveling for more than a couple hours, stop along the way and make sure the length of the tie doesn't need to be adjusted as the hay net gets smaller.

The panic snap allows the tie to be released with an easy downward motion if the horse pulls against it. If the panic snap is old and partially rusty, it may not release easily in an emergency, however. (As cheap as the snaps are, inspect and replace, if necessary). For this reason, a horse should also be transported in a leather halter, or a nylon halter with a leather crown piece -- the leather will break if the horse cannot be released from the tie quickly enough.
