I have a brand new 2015 Hawk trailer that was damaged by a horse being loaded into another trailer. The horse flipped and came to rest up against my trailer. When she got up she put a sizable dent in the rear left side and some smaller dents in the loading ramp. It is insured by Geico as part of my Auto policy , but I'm not sure where to take it. Would a delaler be able to repair this type of damage? Thanks for any suggestions.

If the dealer can't fix it on site, he probably has a body shop on contract that can...I hope you got the insurance information from the owner of the horse that did the damage, as they are the liable party to repair your trailer

Thanks Paul. The person who was loading the horse is another boarder at my barn. She has an old trailer and does not have insurance on it. Would it be covered by her auto or would I just be stuck going through mine? the trailer probably doesn't even have 100 miles on it yet so I want to make sure it's completely restored .

You are lucky if you have the info of the offending owner. Most horse shows I've been to people wouldn't think twice about just moving and parking elsewhere. If you get stuck finding a shop your insurance company might have a preferred body shop they can recommend.

Thanks. I wasn't sure how this all worked. I'm so careful that I've never actually had to use the insurance on my trailer before.

This is NOT a claim against her trailer insurance...this is a claim against her home owner's liability insurance as it was her "PET" that damaged your trailer

I would take it back to the factory in Manawa, Wi. to have it repaired on the other horse owners dime. http://www.hawktrailers.com/contact.php

It may be covered by the insurance of the business owner who's property the incident occurred. But I do believe it will covered by the home owners insurance of the offending horse's owner, if they have insurance. If you get no help from anyone lawyer up.
