I am about to purchase my first 3h trailer with LQs. 31' towed with a long bed. GN. I live on a two lane state road with little room on either side and am concerned that my dive may not be wide enough to take the turn. Thoughts on how wide it needs to be? I have a bumper pull now and know the GN turns wider. Any information, help would be greatly appreciated. Thks

I live on a two lane road also. I have a 3 horse LQ with mid tack and its 35'. I can get out and into my drive but I have to hug the outside of the drive and road to do it. One thing I've learned is to not start turning at the last possible moment and then turn hard. The GN doesn't follow the truck the way a bumper pull does, they tend to pivot around their wheels.

You can also widen your driveway by adding another tin-horn or drainage tube and more gravel. Adding an angled driveway, that looks like a runaway ramp used in the hills, is another approach the locals use around my parts.

Or you could treat your driveway like the alley dock test for the CDL...and back in... https://youtu.be/9xsuaV3K9uI

Here's a link to a trailer track calculator. It's metric but just convert your measurements to mm.http://toxiccelery.co.uk/Offtrack/What_you_need_to_know.html

In the above calculator use a negative number for the GN hitch. Just remember to use the same units. All feet or all inches. Don't mix units.
