I just bought the HCP 39 gallon corner tank and installed it in my trailer using the securing hardware they included with the tank. My first trip out the straps unwrapped and the tank fell over. Nothing like having 39 gallons of water in your tack room and a broken bridle rack where the tank landed. Needless to say, DON'T USE THE STRAPS THAT ARE INCLUDED WITH THE TANK. Buy some 1" ratchet straps and secure them with a D-ring BOLTED to the wall of your trailer.

I have 2 of those tanks on the hay rack.. great tanks but the flimsy little straps they send don't work. I use kayak tie downs- 2 on each tank- and they hold fine.

I remember the instructions for my 48 gallon upright - it said to install retaining straps in addition to the web ones attached to the tank.
Was there any instruction sheet?
This is my second HCP water tank. My first was the saddle rack one. Sold that and got the 48 gal. half moon. I use a 3" wide ratchet strap attached to 2 large rings that each have 2 screws holding them to the trailer wall. I built a base for my tank to get it off the floor and installed it where most trailers have a rear tack.
I'm dismayed at how badly the threads on the outlets hold up. Something on my bottom one is messed up and now it leaks all the time despite teflon tape, different faucet attachments, new washers, etc. Only leaks when I get past about 15 gallons. So I would advise ANYONE to put a faucet on and leave it on. I may have messed mine up when I remove the faucet for cleaning. Who knows.

I havent had any trouble and I travel a lot of bumpy gravel roads. You have to make sure you get the straps tight and then tie a knot with the left over to prevent slipping. Also follow the instructions exactly as to where the straps should be in relationship to the height of the tank. Watch out for huge potholes though, I did dislodge my tank, full of water, 6 hours before we were heading to a big horse show...the wet tack room was nothing compared to 2 bent trailer axels. Never seen it coming in the dark while heading to fuel up
