Do any of you have experience pulling a CIW trailer? I have a line on one and wondered if they were as easy to pull as they say. Any comments you might have from your experience with these custom made trailers would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Rodeogram;

CIW trailers are steel. They are very large. Monty Mitts, who designed and built them tried to tell us they were as light as aluminum. Impossible! They do, however, have everything a rolling home would have. By the way... I have the perfect truck to pull one, a Frieghtliner. Good luck in your search. There is no right or wrong, only what is right for you and your circumstance.

Thanks for the info! We were told that the 35 ft model would pull easily with a Dodge 1 ton dually and get at least 10 miles per gallon. Sounded unreal given the size of the trailer! Anyone else have an experience with a CIW?????

A 35' box on Aluminum LQ will weigh 13,000+ empty, and it's TO BIG for a 0ne ton to handle safely. And this one's steel? Someones not being honest or doesn't know to truth.

I am familiar with the Mitts and the trailers. THey are truly rolling homes. We were camped with a retired couple pulling one. It was at least 35 ft and had a raised roof into the neck/bedroom, a washer and dryer and you opened an outside door and a panel corral pulled/unfolded out of it. They pulled it with a little Freightliner and I dont think anything smaller would of held it up. Funny but we were at a competitive trail ride. We thought this couple was with the ride. Every evening they had Starbucks coffee waiting under their nice awning for us. hehe Found out they were retired, sold their home, and lived in the trailer traveling the country. It had everything. They have us a tour.
