I am looking for information on how to fix the aluminum roof of my Merhow trailer. I was exceedingly disappointed and shocked when a horse I was hauling reared and put her head right through the roof. The aluminum in the roof is razor thin. What a disappointment! It is one solid roof on a four horse, 12' sw trailer. She put her head through the roof of the second stall. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Is this normal for an aluminum roof or is it cheap? My previous trailer had a fiberglass roof that would easily have withstood this kind of damage.

An aluminum roof can be repaired. The damaged area can be cut out and replaced without redoing the entire roof. Some RV dealers and fabricators are experienced in this type of repair. A call to the manufacturer may result in a factory approved facility.
The last time this happened, it was an Exiss and all hell broke loose.
