Am considering buying a Tire Pressures Moniotring System for my trailer tires. It is my understanding how the units work .Each tire has a sending unit attached to the valve stem ,sends a reading to a 12v monitoring screen in the truck. The unit monitors pressure and temperature of each tire . Blow outs are so common [for many reasons] , I thought it would be a huge piece of mind. Do any of you use this system or have any first hand knowledge of these units?

I don't have any experience with them personally but they are very popular in the RV trailer world. They work. I say go for it. You will have a head start knowing if you have a tire going low and there will be no question if you have a blowout.
