Something is draining my battery. The only thing I had on was the fridge. I was thinking that it didn't draw currant when it is running on LP. Does anyone know if that is the case.
I switched the power totally off and then the fridge quit working so it must need 12v power to operate????? I must ad that it ran the battery dead in 1 day.

It does have to have 12 volt in order to operate on LP. Shouldn't have run the battery down in one day though.

I was thinking something else was draining it because I did have to charge it the day before and the fridge wasn't on. I have an appt monday to see where the draw is.

When running on LP the only draw should be to ignite the fridge.  Could be your batteries are going dead and that's why they're not holding the charge.

It is a new battery and had been charged the previous day from running dead before. So somethings up not having anything to do with fridge.

Charging a dead battery takes more than one day you can get some good info from the chart at the bottom of this page. http://www.progressivedyn.com/prod_details/charge_wizard.html Smoke detectors, Refers (lights inside) and Propane detectors along with water pumps and hot water heaters all use the 12V supply. If your batteries are new then they may need a good quality charge. One battery well charged in the summer (No heater) should last two days.

Update.

The humidifier draws power (a fair amount I might ad) all the time even if the fridge is turned off. Flipped the switch and the draw of currant stopped. Sometimes the simpliest things cause so many problems.

It is in the fridge for  moisture controll. It is a switch on the top of the frame of the door. Not sure what will happen with out running it but I would rather have a battery that I can use.

Oh Yea! I have the same thing. I flip it on occasionally durring humid weather but generally it is off with no effects. I believe its function is to keep the lip or edge from condensating. Most home fridges have the same feature yet it is more automatic. Thanks gotta go check mine I have no idea what position it is in these days :-)

Check your battery condition and water level as well, a good quality deep cycle battery will only give you 2 years of good service after that they will charge up but may not hold it for long.
