Just bought our first horse trailer and was wondering what is the best way to insure the trailer and cargo.

Your best bet is to talk to your insurance company.  It is my understanding the we are covered, liability wise, by the tow vehicle policy.  I wanted my trailer to be covered while it was setting at the barn, so I bought a seperate policy.

That is what I understand also. My insurance agent is having trouble finding a company that will insure the horse trailer, any companies that you know of.

Our LQ, as well as stock trailer,  and 2 horse etc all through State Farm.  Do a search on this forum for trailer insurance, there was a lengthy informative thread on it a bit ago.
