I've been wanting to share these for some time, happened on to them tonite so here they are. I was on my way to work one morning (at a horse trailer dealership) and stopped for coffee to find this sitting in the lot at the local gas station. No truck - no note - no sign of anyone, nobody in the station knew anything. I left a business card on it, but never heard from them.

OMG  what did they do with the horse?!?!  He must be a very good trusing horse to ever set foot in that death trap of a trailer.  Hopefully someone did something....

I'll bet the HI-LIFT on the rear is worth more than the trailer.

That's a classic example of how trusting our best friends are.  They ask only to be loved and taken care of appropriately and yet some people jeopardize their existence.  I'd like to haul the owner of that thing a couple of hundred miles in the trailer so he could witness firsthand what the hazards are!

I think had I been the owner of the lot or property where this had been left, and there was no note left with the trailer explaining "I've gone to get my flat/wheel fixed" ect,I would have had the sherrif waiting when they returned to ask some questions.Man,anything could have happened with that horse in that piece of junk.the thing could have tipped forward, ect. He could have blown up in there and gotten hurt or killed, anything.

And I'm not making fun of the trailer, and saying he needed a brand new one but I think if I couldn't haul a horse in anything but that,I wouldn't need a horse.

You would like to think this was someones idea of a poor joke on the land owner, But obviously not! On a brighter note, sure wish my horse loaded that well!

Maybe they left him in because he isn't a good loader.  Would you want to get in that thing?

I couldn't imagine leaving a horse in a unhitched trailer, I guess it's less likely to roll since it has a flat and is sitting on a jack.  But what if the jack fell?  I'd have never left the horse unattended.  I'm to parinoid about thieves.  I'd have waited until the place opened or the police showed up to see what I was doing and gotten help then.

Okay 'The Mayor'... is this a joke or what?  Update us...  Don't mean to sound like I'm judging BUT, if those photos were real/not staged, how could anyone have seen this, taken a photo and just left without helping or calling someone?  Seriously!!!  That could have been a dangerous situation.

Maybe he had to get to work on time, and didn't have time to hang around fooling with it.I think he said he was on the way to work. Then again, why didn't those guys at the gas station do some checking/calling? It was on THEIR property!

Yes I had to go to work - I sent a salesman back but he couldn't find anyone either. The dealership is less than a mile from the station so I really thought we would see the owner(s) looking for help - but they never came. This was 2 years ago -  haven't seen the trailer since. I've often wondered how that day ended.

A friend (friend?) of mine came to a school function one afternoon and said she'd just been riding in the local park. I said, "Where'd you park your trailer?". The school has limited parking. I couldn't believe it, but she'd unhitched, and left the horse and trailer in the park!!!!! I would NEVER do that! It takes all kinds. Oh, and in the end, her horse and trailer were fine, no tickets, and the park rangers didn't even give her a warning. Weird.
