I think you must have looked at the add AFTER it had been editted. The original price shown was $529,995

I think the largest changes we will see in trailer prices, will be in used units being sold in the private sector. There will still be new trailers being sold and the trades taken in by the dealers will be available, but in fewer amounts. The manufacturers and dealers will still need a profit, their pricing will reflect this.
The private individuals, being priced out of the hobby/business is not concerned with a trade. They will be selling outright to get out from under the penalizing payments. The full effects of the faltering economy hasn't yet hit, and for those who are able, purchasing a trailer later this Spring should be less expensive.

The correct price looks like its now posted. The OP made more sense (and was pretty funny) when the ad originally went up with a six figure price listed.

Sorta makes you feel like you're getting a deal, price dropped $500,000.00 in just a few hours!!
I do like the idea of having two slant stalls with a side ramp and two straight loads in the rear. You can have four horses on the trailer and unload anyone you want, without having to move the others around. Works like a head to head in that respect. Me likie!

I don't quite understand what protects the horse in the back right straight load stall from chewing on the butt of the slant horse in front of him. Unless I am missing something, I would call it a design flaw.

When we were shopping this fall, the 2+1 kept coming up as a trailer we really liked. All of them we looked at had bars in front of the mangers of the straight stalls to keep the horses from doing exactly what you are saying. Maybe they're not shown in this photo?

It almost looks like there are 2 slant dividers and I would imagine there would be some room between them to prevent that. If not. tying the horse in the right straight stall should prevent that. I kinda like the layout, access to all 4 horses, and MAYBE a way to finally tell if "straight is less fatiguing than slant" on your particular horse. Of course that post for the straight divider would need to come out for moving and such.

Unless the trailer industry takes a page out of the agricultural manufacturing model...
Build to order...which is why you see much less ag equipment sitting at the dealerships these days...

One of our neighbours just bought a 3 horse slant load brand new sundowner for $16,000 (canadian dollars). He said that two years ago the same trailer would have retailed for $24,000. I think the strength of the canadian dollar has definitely brought down the prices of trailers in Canada.

Agree with you Gard. I'll add that the price of a new LQ trailer is simply out of reach for most folks. $50k for a trailer?!!?? Yeah, along with $40k for a new truck? Hmmmm.... Sounds to me like the "little luxuries" of life have become way too pricey, but I'm a bit jaded... :-) My non-LQ trailer was about $20k in 2002...
