I have a 2000 4 horse slant Silver Star trailer.  I am wondering if anyone has any information on adding an access door to the horse area from the dressing room.  I think it would be very handy to have.  I want to find out if anyone has any experience with this, pro or con.

Should be do-able if you can find a door and can weld aluminum. You could probably even fabricate a bolt in job with some thought. The main issue would be keeping a space clear for the door to swing.

Kary,

I have looked into this myself and gotten a lot of feedback from others. You can call the company of your tailer maker and buy a door, then have it installed by someone local. I'm looking for a Sundowner walk thru door, but have gotten the best price from Exiss. Go figure! I think it's all in the installation anyway. Good luck and I'll keep checking back too. I'm personally not into the home made door if I can help it. But who knows, I haven't seen one yet.

I don't know about the cost(last one I bought was about $300, but they do come with a frame so NO welding is required, just cut the hole and screw the door in place.
