We owned a three horse BP stock/slant horse combo. It was built very well and the options we were able to order made it very versatile. It was a basic type of trailer, with few bells and no whistles. We bought it in the mid 90's and sold it this summer for only about a thousand less than we paid for it.
It was steel and prone to the rusting we enjoy in this part of the country. We repainted it, and it never had any serious issues that affected safety. However, it was built on a Friday afternoon or early Monday morning. One side of both axles had no grease in the wheel bearings. This resulted in new spindles, bearings and a drum assy. With new parts, synthetic grease and bearing buddies, the next decade and a half were trouble free.
