You all have been very helpful to me in the past, so I'm going to try my luck one more time.

I'm looking for the self adhesive black material that is placed on metal steps and running boards to prevent slipping when you step in those areas. The surface has the consistancy of 50 grit sand paper and it comes in rolls of various widths. It has a paper backing that is peeled off just before application.

We used to use it in the airline business on the aluminum stairs before jetways were so prevelant. We called it generically, "non-skid". I can't find it at any of the big box stores or any local hardware stores. I haven't tried any trailer manuf's yet, hoping to find a local or mail order source first.

Mine is badly weathered and should be replaced before next year's seasonal use.

Thanking you in advance for your assistance.

Have you not tried at Lowe's? I bought 2 strips of it last weekend there.

It has the peel off backing, ect. It comes in a certain size,so,you might have to cut it to fit.

I think the clearance on our slide step is so close, tho,I'm not sure it will work w/out scraping off all of the grit!!

You can check some RV supply places.  I just replaced the strips on our camper steps and we bought them at camping world.
