Gosh I am about to give up on the trailer shopping but this one just fell into my lap. What can someone tell me about the newer Silver Stars? I read the other post but it talked about older ones. Thanks guys!

IMO the Silverstar is one of the best trailers out there. I have a 2006 myself. It's a smaller LQ, but it suits me and the hubby & dogs just fine. Very well built, and after 2 years, still looks brand new. We use the heck out of it too. I really like the fact that Silverstar insulates their roofs in the back.

I think Silver Star makes a nice trailer. A friend of mine had one, and he really liked it. I checked it out pretty close, and I thought it was a really nice trailer, and I'm in the trailer business.

I think you should make up your own mind on the trailer. If it is in the price range that you want and has the options you want and is in good shape when you inspect it decide if you want to buy. You need to make that choice so if it dosent work out you only have your self to blame and not the people on this forum for making the choice for you.

I thought they are out of business? I'd be worried about warranty issues. My cousin can't get parts for hers. Company went under unless I am confusing it with another company...the one in South Carolina? She loves her trailer though.

I have heard the same thing. But when I looked at their website yesterday, everything seemed to be current.
Let me edit my last post:
I think they are nice trailers, but I would get the "skinny" on the out of bussiness deal before I bought one. Good Luck, let us know how you make out.

I've always had luck finding parts for my Silverstar. Most of the parts you'll ever need are generic trailer parts that are used on different brands, and are easy to locate.
I purchased mine used, and I was able to get an extended warranty from my dealer. It says I'm covered for something like 7 years. I bought it for peace of mind. I would ask your dealer about it to see if it's available.
Good luck...and let's see pics when you get one!!!

I have one and LOVE it. Nicely built.
I did need to replace some small "wear and tear" parts (hinges, O rings inside trailer for the mangers). My trailer was still under warranty and they shipped them to me completely FREE. Wear and tear parts?! I did hear that they were re-organizing, so have no idea what's going on there, if anything.
As far as the trailer itself, you will be VERY pleased!!

burn 3 and home, call Silver Star and see if they are building trailers. Last I heard was, they were waiting on their shipment of aluminum. I got a 2000 model 2033MA that we have pulled all over the east coast and through the mountains. Never have had a minutes trouble with the trailer. Replaced the tires once, packed the wheel bearings, acid washed, and replaced the little plastic door stop/holders.........That's it! Would I buy another one? Maybe, if they are still building them, but there have been others on this site that have ordered trailers only to be told months later that the trailer is still not finished. The company changed hands, no materials to build with, planets not in alignment, global warming, etc. etc. You decide, give Silver Star a call and let us know what they tell you.

I've got an '03 2H slant GN with a small DR. I bought it new and I am very pleased with the trailer.
I just emailed Silver Star yesterday inquiring about a stud divider. I haven't gotten a reply yet, but if I don't within the next couple of days, I'll probably give them a call.

Like the construction on their Floor System, one of the best I've seen. I've always said, " A horse trailer ain't no better then the foundation it's built on."

Not meaning to be the party pooper, but you might want to make sure Silver Star is still in business. The last I heard they weren't in business and that would be a bad thing to buy a trailer and have no one to take care of the warranty. Once again that is just what I've heard and that don't make it the gospel, but you may want to check on that.
