I noticed yesterday after I got home from a barrel race, that the left front tire is worn more on the inside of the tire than on the outside. There is a lot of tred on the outside, but its getting smooth on the inside. What causes this? I have a 98 S&H 3 horse Contender and pull it with a 2003 Dodge 3/4 ton diesel.

if your wheel is tight and your hub is tight, my guess is a bent axle. The camber (tilt) is wrong on the tire for some reason. Good luck...maybe someone here is more able to diagnose that than I..

I would guess that it's bent too, if there is a lot of slack in the bearings (they are worn out) that could possibly cause the problem too. I have an old trailer that does the same thing and it's a bent axle that causes the problem, it's just not worth replacing the axle on an old trailer that gets used so little.

The best solution is to seek out a heavy truck trailer shop with alignment capabilities. They will be able to either align the axles or correct the bend.
