There are a lot of good brands. What size tires are they? What load range? Are you looking for an aggressive tread or a highway tread?

I prefer a tire that has a solid rib on the outside row of tread. This reduces the cupping that seems to happen on the front tires, especially on 4WDs. Look at a Firestone Steeltex or Transforce and you will see what I am talking about.

Im not sure what the size is. I do a lot of highway driving and pulling the trailer with this truck. I believe it has the orignal tires on it now - bridgestones - and im at 73000 miles. They seem to be wider tires than what I have had before, and dont do worth a darn in the mud! I have had the Firestone Steeltex on other trucks I have owned and really like them. Didnt know if there was a good high mileage tire out there that I can get a lot of use out of.

I think the Steeltex has been replaced with the Transforce. I have had good luck with the Steeltex HT's, or formerly R4S's. So I would assume the Transforce HT would be similar. There are probably some Michelins out there that would provide higher highway mileage and better quality, but for a lot higher price, too. None of them are going to be stellar performers in mud, snow, or ice, though. You got some pretty good mileage out of your tires, though. Definitely nothing to complain about.

Some others on here seem to know tires very well, so hopefully they chime in.  Cough cough.

If you've gotten 73K miles on the originals, I'd say you've got high mileage tires. Why not get another set of Bridgestones?
