Thanks for the tip...always like to shop sales. Nancy, www.showstoppertack.com has some good deals in their close out section right now, some really good boots for people, harness pads and so on.

The Aiken store told me that the first round of discounts will start 3/15 and that it is only on in-store merchandise. They are not ordering anything else.

Is State Line tack REALLY closing.Just got their NEW SPRING(few days) catalog which has NO mention of such. Its dated March of 07.It has listings of new catalog features, gift cards etc. and is bigger and thicker then ever.Just got here in the mail Friday.Think I'll call them and ask. Well HECK I just called them and IT is CLOSING.Order gal said SURPRIZE! Said it was just wham all of a sudden with NO reason to any of the bottom employees.Said she was told SHE had a job until August and then that was it unless someone bought them.Wonder about this catalog deal with no mention being sent out to the public.

I'm curious as to why they'd shut down. It seems like they must be profitable. It is true I order lots of stuff from others but when it comes to tack, State Line offers a better selection and I will definetely miss them. Lets hope someone reputable buys them out and keeps the large selection of quality tack!

I sure wouldn't order anything if great value from them.Bet exchanges, returns, warrantys might be a issue in coming months.Heck pushing GIFT cards etc.Catalog should have had a sticky notation on it about closing.Order desk did not OFFER such info.

Grrrr....
It is my understanding that; Stateline is NOT CLOSING the mail order, ONLY the departments in the petsmart stores.
They never were competitive with anyone in the retail end anyway, as they never did have much stock, or many employees who knew beans about horses or any thing but dogs and cats, fish, birds.
Country supply, Jeffers, Valley Vet, ect. is always cheaper anyway even on their mail order/internet stuff.
They did have more english crap, and fancy boot bags, nicky nacky..ticky tacky and I guess that is worth more than their retail stores.
Even our local hay guy is cheaper on wormers, clothes, and carries goat and dog/cat/pig/ sheep stuff too. Soooo... he will get our business anyway.
