I am thinking about buying one of these to take out west with us since we will be primitive camping for two weeks and 4 people sharing our bathroom, am sure we will need to empty before our stay is up which is going to be two weeks.

Does anyone know the best place to buy one of these for the best price or does anyone have a good used one that they don't use that you want to sale? Debbie

The best place to buy will be a local RV store.  It might help with shipping.  You can also  check with camping world.  They have an online site.  I have one and it is really handy to get.  I have the 35 gallon model and wished I had gotten one a size larger.  This way I could dump both tanks at a time.

I've got the big "mo mo" poop toter.  I believe it's 50 or 60 gal.  The problem I've found with it is . . .  they are made for RV use. RV's typically sit higher than horse trailers, which makes the tanks drain easier into the poop toter than the tanks on horse trailers.  I usually let the hose fill up, then have to raise the hose higher than the fill hole in the poop toter so the "stuff" will flow in.  Anyway, kinda of a pain, but worth it.  Hooks to the ball of your truck for pulling to the dump station.  If there's no dump station, then you may be SOL (pardon the pun), because the thing is hard to lift when empty, I couldn't imagine trying to lift it FULL!!

walkin: Check with Walmart in the RV section for the 30amp RV cord, think they have 10', 20' and 30' lengths.

Paul, That'd mean ripping out the toilet that's already there. Don't think it'd be practical.

I, like N2ridin, have one of these units. I find it to be more trouble that it is worth. I even purchase one of the expandable tray units to put on the hose (so it would have more of a downward slant) the problem is that the horse trailer's just don't sit high enough for the grey/black water to flow into the portable tote. IF you put your horse trailer on stablizers (both sides of the trailer) you might get the rig off the ground enough. Since I only empty grey water (from the shower and kitchen sink, I usually dig a small hole under the trailer and drain into the hole. The totealong was just way to much work and I found I was "draining" the hose at least 2/day. I might add, my totealong was the smallest unit they make with wheels (thought it would be easier to move around.) The only unit that is smaller doesn't have wheels, and the height of the unit is only slightly less that mine with the wheel. Good luck and let us know what you come up with.

I had the same problem with the trailer height.  I cut the hose off real short and got the tank as close to the trailer as possible.  Put on the gloves and hold it on.   I guess I am just to lazy to go through all the trouble of hooking up and dumping.  However, where we camp, they will kick you out even if you are caught dumping grey water.

My husband tells me to hold it or wear depends...but I think the tote tank is the answer when you are out on a long weekend...
