Hello to all from Prattville Alabama:
New to the forum, been looking at for a while.
Need some help with overseeding my pasture for winter grazing. I have 2 horses on 4 acres. My home is in central alabama. What is the best way too grow winter grasses without plowing. I have a tractor, disk, 3 point spreader. I have in the past broadcast the seed and fertlized, worked sometimes. Will a landscape rake break up the ground enough to get pentration for the seed?
I know this year is gone but furtue plans will be to do half of pasture and rotate the horses on and off of the grasses.

Most of your USDA NRCS offices will have a no till drill that you can rent for a project like this. You can can try the landscape rake, but if you could rent a drill, this would help the best. You have less run off of seed as well in this process.
