I am looking for a GN Alum 3 horse slant trailer.  Now, I have been overwhelmed with information on this site and manufacturers sights.  My brother has a Silver Star and I asked him what he liked/why he bought it. Smooth welds, floor supports, fully lined/insulated, one piece roof, heavier axles, wide stalls and all standard cheaper priced than other trailers without these options.

Now, I do like Silver Star but am not closing my mind to just them.  Is there a site that compares aluminum trailer qualities?  I feel that I am destined to just go and look at every trailer I can. I am looking at new and used. I will be going to the MD Horse Expo with notepad, tape measure and camera this weekend.

If you really want to compare trailers, start on the outside like you said.  Climb under them and on top of them to see how they are made.  Pay attention to all the hinges and doors (are they welded, bolted, what type fasteners are used).  The LQ can be very subjective depending on the company that does the work.  I would look at making sure the structural integrity looked good.  When you pay attention to the small details like how the walls join and the welds are finished, you start to see just how much quality is in the trailer.  We have a C&C and were sold on the exterior part of the quality.  That is what will determine what it is worth years down the road.
