Ohio does not require horse trailers under 4,000 lbs to be titles - you simply weigh the trailer and the state issues you a registration and plate. I purchased my trailer 10 years ago (in Ohio) and do not have a title for it. What happens if I sell the trailer to someone that would need a title to register the trailer for plates?

Do you have the Original Certificate of Origin? If you sell OOS, call the BMV in that state to see what they would require. Usually, when you register a trailer in another state you can apply at that time for a title
