Got the financing. Mortgaging my truck.

I'm looking at a Kiefer Advantage [maybe a Deluxe II] or a Featherlite 8107.

7' tall, 16' long.

Have heard of problems with Featherlite's welding. But I found a trailer @ $7500 delivered. Found a Kiefer built for $7700 [Advantage] or $8900 [Dlx II].

Comments?

Thank you!!

Happy Holidays!!

I still love my Featherlite. It's 15 years old and still has no problems with any of the welds. I understand the major trailer manufacturers change owners like popcorn in hot oil though, so look into the exact year of the trailer you want and go over it with a fine toothed comb before you buy anything. Take a welder or engineer with you if you can. I did, course I had to marry him first!!! Still keeping him around in case I need to buy another trailer in 20 or 30 years.

If you want to haul your animals in a pop can you can buy a Kiefer. It fell apart in the first two years I had it. Then I got talk into a Featherlite I have had it for a year and a half and have not had a problem.

Wow. Thanks.A lot can change in a few days. I'm leaning toward a Silverlite Bandit--if I can figure out how move it about 350 miles. It's plain, but has slant gates and mats.Gotta run--will be up @ dawn to cook.

You have to remember that the Kiefer Advantage is a basic starter trailer that is lightweight. The Deluxe II is a commercial grade trailer that can't be beat. So be careful generalizing about a particular brand as they have different models. But so does Featherlite....

I've researched Silver Lite and have even been to the plant. The quality is very high and the people who run the company can't be beat! From everyone I've talked to and what I've seen they stand strongly behind their products. I'm dealing with Midwest Trailer Sales in WI....another GREAT company! Good Luck!

The merger will not change anything. Featherlite will always be around. Don't hesitate one bit if you want to find you one. They are a safe investment.
