I will be picking up my 5 month old filly at the end of August. The drive is a little over 5 hours and I am trying to figure out if the back of my trailer is safe to haul a baby loose( she will not be halter broke so tying isn't an option) or if I should put up a barrier on the door. I don't think it will be an issue but I want someother opinions. I have attached a picture of the back of my trailer.
Thanks in advance, this is my first time hauling a weanling so I want to make sure verything for her arrival is perfect!

Haven't hauled a youngster in several years, and it was in an enclosed trailer. Kudos to you for getting opinions for the sake of safety. I've seen weanlings do some dumb stuff. I saw a video posted on FB of a horse hanging out of the front drop down window and stated the bars had been up. It stated "graphic" so didn't watch it. No stomach for that. Good luck and hope you get your new baby home safely.
