I took a 17 mile ride last Sunday, in the Cascade Mountains in Washington. We climbed 3500 feet and were on the trail for about 8 hours - whew. It was 75 degrees, no wind and absolutely beautiful. That's me in the last picture, in the red sweatcoat. My horse was sure tired... I think it's one of the longest rides and climbs that he's ever been on and he did fine. His back was sore, but after a couple doses of bute and a warm bath and massage he is good as new.

Thanks for the pics! nice country.
I see the one person to your left has a very important tool for the back country.....a good saw !
Looking forward to a trip tomorrow to the Pendelton round up.A little R+R and lots of fine people, horses, and entertainment. If you hav never been to it,you should go for the parade itself. It is fantastic. There are vendors all over selling all types of tack, boots, food ,indian wares, and much more.
Then it is over to Union county for some pre season elk scouting.
