I am in the market to buy a new trailer, but I wanted to get some input about what I can haul and be SAFE. I recently purchase a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500, SLT, Quad Cab 4x4. I would really like to buy a two horse gooseneck with a dressing room, but is this too much for this truck? It has a 5.9L engine, 3.92 axle ratio and the transmission cooler as well. If it is what would be the ideal trailer type for this vehicle? Before I had a 3/4 ton Chevy and a bumper pull steel trailer, but I am trying to upgrade things. Any input on this would be most helpful.

As long as you are BELOW the weight restrictions when loaded, you will be fine.

You will be able to pull a 16 foot box stock type steel trailer with tack and 2 horses. Just remeber what the previous post said about weight and that the more enclosed the trailer, the more it will weigh. Happy trailer shopping!
