Rifle deer season runs Nov. 12-22. I would NOT ride in or near any woods during that time! This coming weekend is opening day and no way should you ride then. That is, unless you know of an area that is strictly off limits for hunting. I would love to find some places that are closed to hunting.

Have you ever been to Greensfelder Park next to 6-flags? A great place, good camping(no elec) and not too far from you. Check em out on St. Louis County Parks website.

We stick to the state parks during hunting season. I don't think most of them allow hunting. St Joe State Park, near Parkhills, MO. St Francois State Park, Bonne Terre,mo but St Francois does not allow horse camping. St Joe has a nice horse camp. Sam A Baker State Park but might want to call them just to be sure. THey have a nice new horse camp. It is near Piedmont. DK
