I'm trying to figure out the best way to secure wall mats in my trailer . I have seen other trailers with wall mats secured by rivets . The rivets in question appear to have a large surface that is visible on the outside of the mats . Does any body have any information on where to find that type of rivet . I looked on Redneck trailer supply , however the rivets they were showing didn't look like the type I had seen .

they are called "wide flange" rivets probably 3/16"x1/2", call around to your local hardware stores. if they cant help you maybe they can tell you who can. i ended up getting mine at a local tractor/trailer repair shop. good luck.

We use a #10x1" or a #10x 1 1/4" self-drilling black screw. It has a 5/8" flat head with a "torx" drive pattern in the head. Sure beats having to drill-then pop-rivet. Also--much easier to remove or change. Just reverse your drill motor, and out they come !! We use them for matting a ramp as well as wall- matting.

McMaster-Carr (spelling ?)
or
4-Star - They will sell just about any/every screw, nut, bolt, rivet that they use in production, except the glue they stick the mats on the walls and ramps with. Also raw materials, e.g. the aluminum extrusions, by the foot.
Prices are quite good too, I think as an after sales service reputation builder.
