Should the vents be mounted with the flange in the top side of the roof or put in from the underside?

I would think that the flange would go on top and then you would seal it from there. I saw a picture of a trailer lately that I thought was a cool idea. They had a installed a "Fantastic Fan" in the roof of the horse compartment and had a weather proof vent cover over it. I've had some experiance with a Fantastic Fan an it would move some air out of the horse compartment . I just thought it was a cool idea. If I can find the picture again I'll post it.

Safe Riding,
Todd

When I installed the Fantastic Fan on my Trailer and removed the old vent...everything was mounted from the top(outside) except the trim molding. Apply caulk/ sealant liberally!

Flange on top. Caulk well between flange and trailer roof. Polyurethane caulk is probably better than silicone.
