This is not a common brand in the pacific northwest, but I get the impression it has a pretty good reputation.I came across one for sale that seems a little high priced, but I can't find comparables advertised to get a sense what would be a fair offer to make. It is a '91 Merhow 2 horse gooseneck that is overall in good shape for it's age. It is a straightload, walkthrough type with a ramp, big escape doors and a large tack room in the front. It has a fiberglass roof. Best of all, the stalls are really big, wide, tall and long - truely warmblood size. It's had a few improvements, nice spring on the ramp, newer tires and wiring and has been well maintained. The upper rear doors are in bad shape where metal on metal rubbed over the years and have actually been removed from the trailer, but everything else looks quite good for it's age. They are asking 5,500 - just seems high for a trailer in it's teens. I also have to factor in putting a gooseneck hitch in the truck. I have a 3/4 F250 Diesel, so I think my truck will do just fine with this trailer.I really like this style (similiar to the Hawks) and it just doesn't seem that common in our neck of the woods.

Okay, I am going to make the drive to look at it this weekend. I can get a new (or nearly new) 2 horse for similiar price they are asking, but I want a heavy duty trailer, with lots of room for my horse and they are pretty hard to find. I am still curious if anybody knows about Merhow trailers.
