Greetings all. We’re so excited to have purchased a new to us, 2002 Kieferbuilt aluminum, 3 horse trailer with living quarters. It needs a little TLC but overall it’s nice. It has water leaking in the living quarters, both front corners of the ceiling, which I assume is running rearward when the trailer is parked as the nose is highest. Anyone know where to start? Common causes? Thanks in advance for your responses.

A) Roof caulk around he outside edge and any vents.. Needs to be some type of non-hardening polyurethane. Not silicone. Thick & well adhered.
B) Corner caps (Weld joints. Not likely)
C) Marker lights. They were bad to leak.

At over 20 years old, any joint that has been caulked needs to be carefully inspected.

Thanks for your reply. I’ve read that the marker lights on that year may be a common cause. As soon as it’s not raining, I’m going up for a look.

Howdy. I have a 02 and same issues. I stripped old off and redid and when I was, I accidentally hit the tv antenna with my boot just to notice that it had caulk too.. it had 3 legs, but only 2 were caulked.. someone at the factory must have ran out!! Good luck!
