I shattered my GN window, I purchased an entire new window from Exiss. I noticed the new window has a rubber ribbed gasket. Does this mean I dont need to use butyl tape or caulk when installing? Thanks in advance Jim

If it goes in the stock area, it usually goes right in. If in a "dry" space, it generally will have clear caulk around the perimeter. And depending on brand, may need 2 weep holes sealed if they end up on top. Ones on bottom stay open for drainage.

Worked like a charm - New issue the kitchen window is leaking - can I remove the entire window toss the rubber gasket and replace with butyl tape and reseal?

I used butyl tape to reseal my windows too. The key is taking the frame out and cleaning the mating surfaces. Clear sealant across the top and sides is a good practice. Helps shed the water.
