I purchased a 1994 All Aluminum (except hitch, jack, etc.) Sooner 3HS, RT, 2' SW DR, Drop downs on head with bus windows on hip and rear. The trailer is in great condition except for some corrosion on the floor in the horse area (approximately 2' X 3' area)  NO dings or dents;the undercarraige is clean.  After much reading of the questions and responses on this great site, I now know what I need to do to correct/ eliminate the problem.  I gave $7,500.00.  Not much said about Sooners on this site.  Give me feed back on Sooners - good or bad, fair price for good used trailer????

Sounds like you got a great price for a 1994 Sooner trailer. Regarding the tread plate floor, there has been a problem with corrision due to lack of cleaning and removable of floor mats to air out the floor. This problem is with all aluminum trailers with athe tread plate floors, Today most mfg'rs are using an extruded floor material that is stronger and may be less towards corrision. Even so the mats should be removed and the floor washed. To fix your problem I would go to a shop that welds aluminun and replace the area of corrision with the aluminum tread plate. The l994 Sooner Trailer was an outstanding product that was a great production trailer and many trailers were built and there is a lot of interest in the used trailer market for this trailer. The reason for this response to your question is to give you confidence you have purchased a great trailer with a minor problem. Good luck.

Thanks for your response ... you have helped put my mind at ease!  Oh, would you happen to know what kind of axle the production 94 sooner has?

The 1994 Sooner trailer will have the 5200# Dexter Axle. If there is a grease zert at the hub, its called easy lube bearing hub. You can with a grease gun pump grease into the bearings. you should not worry about over-grease because excess grease will flow out the bearing on the inside of the wheel.

Thanks for your response.  I'm looking forward to using this trailer for a few years, at least.
