I am trying to mount a portable generator in my hayrack. When I do this it vibrates the trailer. Has anyone done this before and successfully eliminated the vibration?

if your hay rack is not loose and the generator is bolted down you should not have a true vibration, but you will be able to tell that it is running. If you are trying to tie it down with straps instead of bolts that may be your problem.

I have isolation mounts that I bought locally, I'm thinking they are too big.

Is there any advantage/disadvantage to mounting in the hay rack vs. manger besides manger storage space?

for me it is less chance of the exhaust entering the trailer, mine is on top rear and the exhaust pipe extends a little past the rear of the trailer I also think it is quieter being outside.
