Looking at some newer trailers, most don't have generators. Currently I used a honda generator with my old trailer but like the idea of an onboard generator.Any ballpark figures what it would cost to add a generator? Some trailers are "prewired" some not.Mike

It really depends on where you buy your trailer from and if you want them to install the generator. Every manufacturer is different. I got a quote from a Big Tex trailer store that also sells horse trailers and makes parts at the location and it was only 4500 to install a generator, put the tank in and such. Where a normal dealer that has to send the trailer off to get this done will cost more like 5500 to 6500 depending on the dealer.

just to clear things up i was quoted for an Onan 4000 mounted on hay pod walkway and an 18 gallon fuel tank mounted in the manger with a side fill (pull up at gas station and fill just like car) and wired into the living quarters for button start. But like stated it depends on where you go and the type of generator you get and other things like the fuel tank and side fill options.
