I remember seeing some posts on here that it is no longer recommended that aluminum trailers be acid washed. Why? I have finally found someone local that does it, my trailer is in bad need of it. The trailer is a combo of bright and white painted surface, all aluminum except the nose I guess. Aren't those polished stainless?

'Acid' washing of aluminum trailers done by some who knows what they are doing is just fine. Most of the 'acid' washes are a form of citrus acid which works great. When done properly it will look like a new trailer. I personally have found that the Blue Beacon Truck washes are the best if you have one somewhat locall. They will save you lots of time and effort and leave all aluminum looking like new - brushed or polished - and I will not hurt any painted surfaces. If you have somebody locally who an do the same - you will like it. As a reference Blue Beacon does a 25' 4 horse short LQ for about $30. Pickup at the same time is $14. Have ours done at least once a year to keep it looking new.
