We moved up last year to a 2011 Exiss 8314 LQ I was recently installing my new custom aluminum box to house / hide my propane tanks, I noticed the propane pig tails were loose on the fittings. So I bought and replaced both. When I finished I sprayed soapy water on the fittings to check and can you believe my fittings were perfect but the reducer that Exiss installed was leaking badly.I removed both fittings cleaned the threads added tape dope re-threaded and soaped up again with no leaks. My point check your propane for leaks. Please

Doesn't hurt to install a detector either. They are relatively inexpensive and are easy to hook up.

Marla, Sure all LQs or any enclosed sleeping area a detector is a must. Also change your batteries and or test regularly. Most Propane detectors are hard wired in most all LQs. I was talking about the tanks and the connections to the regulator. And any subsequent connections exterior to the trailer.
