Location: South Dakota		How do I know how heavy of axles I have on my trailer? I looked at the tag on my trailer but don't have a clue what I'm looking at. I found the axle book that came with my trailer but of course its for a wide range of different weight axles. My tag shows a GAWR and it says 7,000 so does that mean I have 7,000 pound axles?

Location: North Carolina		GAWR = Gross Axle Weight Rating .... sounds like you have 7000 pounds per axle.   Tires and wheels are a different question.

Location: South Dakota		OK Thank you. I want to have the bearings replaced and would like to have the bearings bought before the project starts since we only have the weekends to do it.

Why do you have to replace the bearings?  Usually cleaning and repacking is all that's required.

If there is a bearing problem, you might confirm the actual bearing numbers before purchase.

Location: South Dakota		We actually don't have a bearing problem. They are the original bearings from 05 so thought we should replace? Your saying another repack would be sufficient? I don't put a ton of miles on the trailer now that my daughter has graduated from HS.

Yes .... Unless you find some damage, Clean & repack is okay.

Be sure to replace the seals and the cotter pin or tang washer if used.  They are too cheap to reuse and tragic if they fail.  (wheel can come off while traveling)

Are you saying to replace the rollers only ? 

If the rollers were damaged or worn, the outer races are likely damaged too.  Pulling the outer races from the hub is a major time and expense.
