Recently purchase Hart LQ trailer, rear of trailer has 4 toggle switches to turn lights on. Switch #1 turns on rear load spot (missing drivers side spot so don't know if it works on this switch or not, have new light ordered) Switches #2,3,& 4 DO NOTHING. These should control tack area light, storage compartment light and horse area inside trailer lights, also spot on passenger side does not light up. I think changing every light is out, I took light out in horse compartment, used tester on wire/connection and had no power, so I think this is a short, pinched wire or something in line AFTER this rear load light....Checked fuse, not that. All lights in LQ work perfectly, porch light perfect....any ideas on where to start?

I would pull the switches and check the common power supply to each for proper voltage. You may find a bad jumper going from one to another. If there is power present to each, then you may have a bad connection or broken feeder to each light. This however, would be less likely than a power supply problem to the switches.

In our Hart we had a few years ago, had to replace the switches as they went bad. Any auto parts store should have a replacement.

Good luck.

I've had to replace some of my switches also.  Between the dust, vibrations and weather, they seem to fail over time

If you have the need to replace the switches, which can be checked when they're pulled, I would recommend using a marine variant. They are water proof and longer lasting, than the automotive types that are made for protected environments. There are many electrical suppliers that sell both types.

I just want to shout out a great big thank you for all the useful ideas that have been shared on this post. It ended up being a switch and an outside light bulb. Now I tried and tried to get that darn switch out without ruining the alum cup it sat in to no avail. Did call Hart later in the day and they said yeah, it doesn't come apart, duh, could have saved me several sharp tongue statements that morning!. Ordered parts to fix and again Thanks for such great people out there supporting this thread!
