So I got this trailer a few weeks ago, and there is no pink slip/title for it, and I can't find anything on it except some numbers on the hitch and since I don't know WHAT kind of trailer is it kind of does me no good.

Anyone know what this is? It is definitely a cattle/stock trailer, it's only 6. It's not pretty, but the floor is good. I'm getting it completely rewired for the lights and brakes, and we're covering the sides with plywood for winter to keep weather out. In the summer we'll sand it, use rust stuff on it, patch holes up, then paint it with the rust paint.

I've done a lot of searching and the only trailer I can find similar is a Hale Tandem Axle trailer, but even then it isn't quite "right", but then it was a picture of one from the 1980s. I found MY trailer exactly, from an auction site, but they didn't know what kind of trailer it was.

Here is my trailer, the red one. The bluish one is the one I found that is my trailer exactly...just redone nicely.

Okay well my files are too big, so I'll link to the photos. I haven't worked with this BB format/program before, so please bear with me.

My trailer:

OK, so why do you care who made it? If it is for tagging, in Tennessee on a trailer that old all that is needed is a bill of sale and safety inspection by Dept. Of Safety (highway patrol). Also in TN, if you don't leave the state you don't have to have a tag on a stock trailer. Check your local laws about trailer tags and titles; IF that is the concern.

Mostly because I am curious. I don't need a title. But I like to know what I have. No harm in wondering what brand of trailer I own.

This reminds me of a Calico trailer. I believe they are still in business.

For sure no harm. It is very similar to one my brother once owned. We never did figure out the brand. It's still around though. A friend of ours gave him three or four quarts of returned paint from NAPA. He mixed it all together and in the can it it looked OK. When it dried on the trailer it looked purplish salmon. It's never been re-painted so it's easy to spot on the road.

It's 2x, I'm liking it as well.

I got a hold of the people at the auction house that had the blue trailer, and she said she had the information on it at the office and will get back to me this week sometime. So, I should know for sure what I have.

Mine is a bucket of rust, but the floors are pretty good and once I have the plywood up on the inside my stuff [and horse!] will be safe for when I move. In the summer I plan on sanding it all down, filling the holes, and basically saturating it in rust stuff.

...or it might be a lost cause, who knows. 52

Bhill, I would say the same thing...Hale or WW. I had one just like it, except mine was like the restored one, with metal in the bottom slats instead of wood.

From what I have seen Hale trailers have the signature rectangle feed door in the nose and two rectangle windows in the manger. The struts on the sides seem to be used on Hale and other trailer of this design.
