On camping trip, trailer disconnected from truck, but still hooked up. Trailer plugged into electric. Few showers. Got back from ride and about an hour later, right rear tail/ brake lights were on.Went to back of truck where plug was hanging up and jiggled it, lights went off.????

Water in the plug making connection from hot lead feeding back from batteries over to lights... Water making the conection between the two... Maybe. A Cherokee I had several years ago would do this.

Yep, nothing magic about it. The right brake light and the battery charge connections are next to each other in the connector. Be sure to disassemble and clean the connector or you'll have no right brake light in the near future. The water will cause corrosion and degrade the wire connection. WD-40 and an old toothbrush should do the trick in cleaning.

Tuner spray will work fine, just not something most people have handy.

When the plug is still apart and rewired, apply some dielectric grease to the screw terminals. This will prevent corrosion at the connections. When the outer sleeve is then installed, it will hold the grease in place, ensuring long term trouble free connections. If the same grease is applied to the plug's pins, it will make the physical connection easier and also prevent any similar corrosion on them .

Auto parts stores, big box and most hardware stores. Look for it in the electrical sections; usually packaged in a sample sized tooth paste tube for ~$3.00
