Has anyone actually installed a grey and/or black water tank in between 12" on-center floor beams ? I have found a supplier for the tanks, and have an idea to install them, but wanting to find if anyone has already done so, and how you did it, to maybe avoid possible problems.

What did you do to replace the tension bands between the beams where the tank goes, since it will hang a couple inches lower ?

This is the final hurdle to completing the LQ.

Thanks.

When we installed a tank in an Exiss, we cut one of the floor beams to create a larger space for a wider tank. It was secured to the floor by bolts around its flange, and backed up using gas tanks straps sourced from an auto parts store.

I found the Tanks that fit in between 12" on center beams at http://www.rvandvansurplus.com/holdingtanks.asp?Vehicletype=RV#

The tank is 11 3/4" wide x 72 3/4 long including a 1 3/4" flange all around.  It is 6" high on the shallow end and 7.5" on the drain end.  This will be about 1-2" lower than the beams, but still above the side rails, except for the drain fitting.

Will have to take off almost all of the flange on one side to rotate it into the hole, but it won't be necessary to remove the vertical web or the opposite flange, so it shouldn't hurt the structure.  They come with 1 3" and 1 1-1/2"  fittings and have level sensors already installed.

Will be using 2 to since the shower/sink and stool are 2 bays away from each other, which also keeps the black separate from the grey water and eliminate the associated problems. With the empty bay in between, will use beam clamps and rods to replace the 4 tension bands on the trailer.

This should keep me busy for a week or so....
