Hello,Another trailering newly question. I am looking for a 2H GN slant with small LQ (6 or 8 feet) but don't really want or need a toilet. But since most come with this setup - I'm wondering if anybody has REMOVED the included toilet and what that would take to do? I plan on putting a port-a-pot in the first stall (just don't want to empty the black tank) and could use that space for additional storage. However, I want it to remain easy to replace (preferred, anyway) for resale.Any other ideas - I've thought of adding some sort of drop down shelf to the side wall above the toilet that hooks so I can stack storage boxes above the toilet -- but then I lose the closet behind the toilet so not really gaining any space there. If I remove the toilet, I'd put a curtain or door there.....I'm thinking......Anybody silly enough to do this other than me???? What did it take - how much did it cost from a conversion place, if that's what you did? Thanks again everybody. You rock....

It's not difficult to unbolt and remove the toilet. Most have a slip sleeve, that inserts into a grommet in the top of the black water tank. A blanking cap could easily be fabricated from PVC, and slipped into the collar to block off the tank. A thin piece of plywood could then be placed over the cap onto the flooring, to keep anyone from stepping directly onto it, and pushing down the tank. The water supply line can be easily capped, and the entire space could then be accessed and used for storage.
The toilet could be easily reinstalled if you later change your mind. Only basic tools are needed for the removal, and it wouldn't be expensive to effect. There would be little or no cost for the reinstall.

I think you will find that the black tank is a lot easier to deal with than the port-a-pot, I had one of those on a boat years ago and I like the black tank a lot better. If you are concerned about resale and storage, consider getting a three horse. You will have all the room you need and a two horse with a LQ has a much smaller resale market. If you are going to be using your front stall (or two) for storage of tack and gear I would suggest that you get a full stud wall divider, it will just insure that none of your gear ends up underneath your horse.
