Hi, we just bought a 2000 Jamco and the roof is in need of a cleaning. Really the whole trailer needs cleaned. I am thinking acid wash for the roof since it is aluminum, but my concern is if the acid wash will hurt the fiberglass sides. The lower half of the trailer is white aluminum plank. Dose anyone have any advice on this to share?
Thanks a bunch!

Not sure exactly what you have, but I believe you'll find that what you are thinking is fiberglass is really aluminum sheet that has been painted. True acid wash isn't great for older paint.
The general benefit of acid washing is to bring a bright finish to a mill finished (i.e. no paint) surface. I'm not sure I'd bother for a roof. I believe a strong soap or mild degreaser might be my first choice. Otherwise, soap and water- followed by a strong hand wax job.

Do not acid wash a painted surface. A citrus wash works well in addition to many "RV" washes. Many times, plain water in a pressure washer will clean the soiled areas.
