My husband can basically do anything and has the tools to do it.  (I am a good grunt).  We want to upgrade the inside of a lq we are thinking of purchasing.  Where is the best place to get faucets, sinks and shower parts for doing this?  And, has anyone gone with solid surface counter tops?

The internet is the best source of products. Most RV faucets use the 4" hole spacing, which is the same as house hold bathroom equipment. You will find hundreds of products in many price categories. Many RV faucets are chrome plated plastic, whilst the products made for home usage, are plated brass and much more expensive. Just Google the items you need.

You can use any solid surface material for the counter tops. Many people adhere the products with construction adhesive instead of quick set, and use the modifiers to make the grouting more flexible. Trailering results in more vibration, temperature extremes and flexing, than the same product endures whilst in your home.

Because of the relatively small areas to be covered, close outs of small amounts of left over material, can be purchased very reasonably from many sources.

I've installed tile, granite, wood, formica, metal and other plastic laminates. They have all worked well on counters and walls.

Thank you for your reply.  We have a granite place down the road that has a lot of small extra pieces.  That is what I want to use.  And, they will install that.  For the floor, do you find that plank laminated, or solid sheeting and perhaps tile is better?  I am leaning towards the plank pre-finished. 

Almost any laminate will work for the flooring. Pergo is impervious to water, has an excellent durability, a good appearance and is relatively inexpensive, particularly in the smaller volumes found in LQs. It works well in the sand and mud environments, commonly found regarding horse events.

Because of the smaller amounts necessary to cover a LQ floor, you can buy close outs of left over flooring from many sources. Recently we saw an add for a local flooring store, advertising Cherry laminate flooring at $.35 a square foot. When I last help build a LQ, we used some prefinished flooring for the bulkhead wall covering. It resulted in a refined, warm, professional look, with a finish that far exceeded my capabilities.
