Hey Ya'll! Does anyone have an opinion about Shadow Trailers? I am intrigued by the fact that some of them offer multiple slides which translates into more room inside. Obviously, we will use the trailer for hauling our trail horses but there will be times when we want to go camping without the horses and take our kayaks or four wheelers. Looking at four horse slant with LQ. Thanks to any and all that reply!

I have a 2008 Shadow 6-horse trailer with living quarters. It has two slide outs with a couch on each side. I have put quite a few miles on this trailer and it is doing very good. If you have any specific questions let me know.

Hey ND Cowboy! Thanks for the response! The one I am looking at is a four horse LQ trailer with two slides. I was aware that there were some companies that made trailers with multiple slides but my friends have always warned me about slides. (I think back in the day slides had issues but since they have been out so long they have been perfected.)Have you had any issues with your slides? What do you pull your trailer with? We have a 2000 Ford 350 Dually. If there is anything you would like to see/have different in/on your trailer--what would it be?What is your favorite thing and what is your least favorite thing about your trailer? I appreciate you taking the time to answer. I owned a Four Star that I absolutely loved-- we out grew that trailer and now we have an Exiss four horse head to head. We have enjoyed that trailer very much and my husband really did a nice job converting the goose neck to a living area but it is still too primitive for an extended trip with or without horses. If anyone else has anything to add please feel free and have a great weekend!

I pull my trailer with a Dodge 5500. Handles it well. I pulled it for a while with a Dodge 3500 which was a little light for the 6-horse. I would think a 3500 on a 4-horse would be fine. The slides I have are manual and only go out about 1' on each side, but it makes a huge difference inside. I have not had any issues with the slides. I have the mid tack that pulls out, I put my generator and saddle pads in there. I would actually have preferred a mid tack with a door to living quarters instead. The only issues I have had so far is I have replaced a few hinges that froze up and broke.
